“Out of your vulnerabilities will come your strength”

-
Do you find yourself stuck with thoughts that won't go away or feeling triggered by things that seem small to others?
-
Do you struggle to quiet your mind at night, replaying conversations, situations, or experiences long after they've happened?
-
Perhaps you find yourself shutting down in important moments, unable to speak up when you want or need to.
-
Maybe you experience recurring nightmares, intrusive memories, or flashbacks from a recent event or something that happened years ago.
-
Or perhaps you react more intensely than you'd like—yelling, withdrawing, or becoming overwhelmed—and later wish you had responded differently.
These experiences can be exhausting, frustrating, and isolating. They may also be signs that your nervous system is still carrying the effects of unresolved stress, trauma, or difficult life experiences.
If any of this sounds familiar, you don't have to navigate it alone. At Run Unhindered Counseling, I use EMDR therapy to help clients process distressing experiences, reduce emotional reactivity, and find lasting relief. Together, we can work toward helping you feel more present, more in control, and free to move forward unhindered.
If you answered "yes" to any of these questions, we may be a great fit.

About Me
Welcome to Run Unhindered Counseling.
I am passionate about helping individuals heal from the experiences that keep them feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected from the life they want to live. My primary focus is providing Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, an evidence-based approach that helps people process distressing memories, reduce emotional pain, and move forward with greater freedom and confidence.
Many people carry the effects of trauma, anxiety, difficult life experiences, or negative beliefs about themselves long after the events have passed. EMDR therapy helps the brain reprocess these experiences, so they no longer have the same emotional impact. As healing occurs, clients often experience relief from symptoms, increased self-worth, and a renewed sense of hope.
At Run Unhindered Counseling, I strive to create a safe, supportive, and compassionate environment where clients feel empowered throughout the healing process. Therapy is a collaborative journey, and I am committed to meeting you where you are while helping you build the resilience and insight needed to reach your goals.
The name Run Unhindered Counseling reflects my belief that healing is about removing the barriers that keep us from living fully. My desire is to help clients break free from the burdens of the past, overcome obstacles in the present, and move forward with greater peace, purpose, and freedom.
Whether you are seeking healing from trauma, struggling with anxiety, navigating a difficult life transition, or simply looking to better understand yourself, I would be honored to walk alongside you on your journey toward living unhindered.

What is EMDR?
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an evidence-based therapy that helps individuals process and heal from distressing memories, traumatic experiences, and negative beliefs that continue to impact their lives.
One explanation for how EMDR works is based on Working Memory Theory. Working memory is the part of the brain responsible for temporarily holding and processing information. Because working memory has a limited capacity, it can only manage a certain amount of information at one time.
During EMDR therapy, clients briefly focus on a distressing memory while simultaneously engaging in bilateral stimulation, such as guided eye movements, tapping, or alternating tones. Both the memory and the bilateral stimulation require attention and compete for space within working memory. As a result, the memory becomes less vivid and emotionally intense while it is being recalled.
Repeatedly recalling the memory under these conditions allows the brain to reconsolidate the experience in a way that reduces its emotional charge. Over time, clients often find that memories that once felt overwhelming become more distant, less distressing, and easier to think about without triggering the same level of emotional or physical response.
Rather than erasing memories, EMDR helps the brain process and store them more adaptively. The experience remains part of a person's story, but it no longer feels as though it is happening in the present moment. This process can create space for new perspectives, healthier beliefs, and greater emotional freedom.
At Run Unhindered Counseling, EMDR is used to help clients move beyond the lingering effects of trauma, anxiety, painful life experiences, and negative self-beliefs so they can live with greater confidence, resilience, and peace.
